This is the story of a young boy (or girl) who has many questions and is searching for the purpose of life.

READER
(Sits or stands center stage, looking upward, frustrated)
God? … (Pause — long, as if listening for an answer)
I need Your help. I just feel so lost. (Pause)
Do You love me? You are my Father, right? (Pause)
Will You always be there for me? (Pause)
I believe You will. You created this whole world, and You are big enough… right?
(Looks down, notices a Bible on the floor. Hesitates, then picks it up. Turns pages slowly.)

I get it now…
For us to be saved, Jesus had to take our place and die for our sins.
(Pause.)
Because “without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins.”
(Raises Bible reverently, stepping forward slightly, full voice)
His blood has removed our sins—
as far as the east is from the west.
(Reader closes Bible and kneels in silent prayer.)
