PROPS LIST

PROPS TIPS & TRICKS

OPENING PRAYER

(To be spoken before the music begins. Stand near the blocks and flowers. Hands relaxed at your sides or lightly holding a flower.)

YOU (softly, reverently):
“Dear Jesus,
We thank You for Your love — a love that reaches us right where we are.
You see every heart in this room.
You know the worries we carry, the hurts we hold, and the hopes we may have forgotten.

Today, we invite You here.
Build a bridge with Your love —
a bridge over fear, over anger, over loneliness, and over pain.

As we share these flowers, let them be a reminder
that You see each one, each one is valued, and each one is deeply loved by You.
May everything we do today point to You.

In Your name, Jesus, we pray.
Amen.”

(Pause. Technician starts music.)

TECHNICIAN

(Cue music)
Start song: “Love Can Build a Bridge” – Westlife

VERSE 1

“I’d gladly walk across the desert with no shoes upon my feet…”

[STAGE DIRECTION]
Slowly and deliberately, lay the cardboard blocks vertically in a straight line on the floor, forming a bridge from where you stand toward the residents.

(Pause briefly between placing each block — let the movement speak.)

CHORUS

“Love can build a bridge…”

[STAGE DIRECTION]
Pick up one flower or craft.
Begin walking slowly and confidently across the bridge.
Make eye contact. Smile gently.
Offer the flower to one resident with both hands. (Brief pause before turning back.)

VERSE 2

“I would whisper love so loudly…”

[STAGE DIRECTION]
Continue crossing the bridge, offering a flower or craft to each resident, one by one.
Move unhurriedly.
If appropriate, gently touch a hand or offer a soft nod of acknowledgment.

CHORUS

“Love can build a bridge…”

[STAGE DIRECTION]
Continue walking the bridge, sharing flowers or crafts.
Let your posture remain open and welcoming.

VERSE 3

“When we stand together, it’s our finest hour…”

[STAGE DIRECTION]
Pause mid-bridge or near the residents.
Gently take the hand of a resident closest to you (if appropriate).

“…we can do anything if we keep believing in the power…”

[STAGE DIRECTION]
Release the hand.
Lift your free hand and point upward, acknowledging God.

FINAL CHORUS

“Love can build a bridge…”

[STAGE DIRECTION]
Continue crossing the bridge until every resident has received a flower or craft.
After the final gift is given, remain standing among the residents.

CLOSING PRAYER

(To be spoken after the final flower or craft is given. Remain among the residents if possible.)

YOU (warm, grateful tone):
“Dear Lord,
Thank You for meeting us here today.
Thank You for every life in this room
and for the love You have poured out among us.

We give You the burdens we carry —
our worries, our anger, our hurts, and our fears.
Help us to leave them in Your hands.

May Your peace stay with us,
may Your joy fill our hearts,
and may Your love continue to build bridges
long after this moment has passed.

We trust You, Lord.
We thank You.
And we praise You.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.”

FINAL IMAGE

A bridge remains on the floor — built not of blocks, but of love — reminding all present that God’s love reaches every heart.
